Welcome to Illumina Tail Guild ( “Illumina,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using our website, mobile services, telehealth platform, donation portals, or attending our events (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization or a pet care facility, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity. These Terms create a legally binding agreement between you and Illumina Tail Guild, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Illumina Tail Guild provides educational content, pet wellness guidance, teleconsultations (vet-approved but not emergency care), adoption listings, fundraising opportunities, merchandise, and community forums. All information is for general educational purposes and does not replace a face-to-face veterinary visit. In case of a pet emergency, please contact your local veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, make donations, or purchase services. By registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at security@illuminatail.com of any unauthorized use.
All donations made to Illumina Tail Guild are voluntary and generally tax-deductible as allowed by law (EIN 82-4197674). You will receive a receipt for your records. We use industry-standard payment processors; we do not store full credit card details. If you make a recurring donation, you may cancel any time by contacting support. Unless otherwise required by law, donations are non-refundable, but we are committed to transparency — if you believe an error occurred, please reach out within 30 days.
All text, graphics, logos, videos, and educational materials provided on our website (the “Content”) are owned by Illumina Tail Guild or licensed to us. You may download or print a single copy for personal, non-commercial use only, provided you keep all copyright notices. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written permission. The “Illumina Tail Guild” name, logo, and the “Pink Paw Project” mark are our trademarks — unauthorized use is prohibited.
Through our Blue Trust Telehealth service, you may receive general advice from licensed veterinarians. This service does NOT establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) in all jurisdictions. You are responsible for ensuring in-person evaluation when needed. We explicitly disclaim any liability for actions taken based solely on telehealth advice without a physical examination. In emergency situations, always seek immediate in-person veterinary care.
Our forums, social channels, and event spaces follow the “pawsitive principle”: be respectful, factual, and kind. You agree not to: (a) post false, harmful, or defamatory content; (b) harass or impersonate others; (c) upload malware or spam; (d) violate any animal welfare laws. We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.
Our website may contain links to independent shelters, pet supply partners, or educational resources. These links are provided for convenience; we do not endorse or assume responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites. Your interactions with partners are governed by their own terms and policies.
THE SERVICES AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ILLUMINA TAIL GUILD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM US SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ILLUMINA TAIL GUILD, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, VOLUNTEERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR PET-RELATED EXPENSES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Illumina Tail Guild and its employees, volunteers, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date.” Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately for breach of these Terms or illegal conduct.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 60 days, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Petville, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
